Perma Products South Africa was established in 1973 and has since developed a comprehensive range of DIY products, designed for easy everyday use. One of the first products it launched was double-sided tape, followed by nail-on picture hooks.

Today the range boasts over 140 products across 11 categories. The categories include Double-Sided Tape, Bathroom Accessories, Kitchen Accessories, Self-Adhesive Hooks, Cable Ties, Surface Savers, Window & Door Accessories, Anti-Slip Grit Tapes, Picture Hanging Solutions, Storage Solutions and a comprehensive range of Child Safety Products.

In September 2017, Permoseal announced its acquisition of Perma Products South Africa, and are putting its full force of Sales & Merchandising, Distribution and Marketing support behind the brand in order to take it from strength to strength. The acquisition of Perma Products fits in with Permoseal's vision of being South Africa's leading supplier of consumer and industrial adhesive products.

Permoseal was established in 1949 and has maintained a solid reputation as a leading manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of adhesives, sealants and DIY products for general and specialised applications in both the consumer, construction and industrial markets.

Being the first company to launch Cold Glue to the South African market in 1954, Permoseal concluded a licensing agreement with Ebnother of Switzerland and began to manufacture locally in 1963.

The Jacobs family acquired the business in 1984 and built a state of the art manufacturing plant in Montague Gardens, Cape Town in 1990. Later, branches were established in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Today, Permoseal's retail brands include Alcolin, Bostik, Evo-Stik, Perma Products and Sugru, while Alcolin, Bostik, Nortec and Gluepaste service the industrial market.

The Alcolin brand is synonymous with quality DIY products and has remained the brand leader in South Africa since its launch. Close international ties ensure that Alcolin's product ranges are manufactured to exacting standards.

Permoseal boasts advanced adhesive laboratory facilities, with quality control being of the highest standard. Ongoing research and development is always a top priority, and has resulted in the regular launch of new products in the consumer, industrial and construction markets.

Permoseal was the first chemical company in Africa to be awarded the coveted ISO 9002 quality management system accreditation and the company still manufactures according to ISO standards, having being awarded ISO 9001:2008 accreditation in 2009.
